Of great significance, Phase I of a $16 million capital construction project was completed In October 2007. The new facilities have greatly improved the environment for the programs provided at the new site and enhanced the quality of care. An impressive $12,512,929 has been secured as of August 5, 2010; and fundraising continues. Although construction financing is secured, we intend to incur as little debt as possible. Conclusion of this capital project (Phase II) is expected to begin in December 2010 and conclude by year’s end 2011. This investment will secure a permanent home for all current and future efforts of our organization and enable Casa de Amparo to continue making a major contribution to a community where child abuse and neglect are not tolerated, and where child abuse awareness and prevention are priorities. All energy and resources can then be focused solely on the Casa Kids and their families in a modern environment that helps them to heal, grow and create the future.
