Substitute Pre School Teachers
The Substitute Pre School Teacher works under the direct supervision of the Director. This position will be working with children ages 18 months - 6 years. The Pre School Teacher plans and implements an age-appropriate curriculum, supervises the children using the Nurtured Heart Approach, and communicates concerns to the Director and parents.

Part time hours to cover for parent education classes and respite care:
1st Friday of every month 5pm-9pm and the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month
5pm-7pm.
Also need on call availability to cover for vacations and sick leave

 

Skills/ Requirements
Must meet requirements for a Child Development Teacher Permit as mandated by the CA Department of Education.
AA degree in Child Development or a minimum of 24 Early Childhood Education units with at least 6 infant/toddler units required.

Professional person who is dependable, nurturing, and consistent with children and parents. Must have ambulatory, auditory and visual skills to observe and physically intervene with children as required. Must have the physical ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills, including, but not limited to crouching, lifting 50 pounds, running, crawling on hands and knees, and walking up and down stairs. Bi-lingual and bi-cultural desirable.
