Counseling Support For Programs

The Counseling Center staff at Casa de Amparo guides, advocates for and supports children and families participating in Casa’s programs, to help treat the effects of child abuse and neglect, and stop the cycle.

Services

  • Assessment for each child to identify strengths and determine treatment plan goals and interventions that will help each child succeed
  • Support and guidance to child care workers as they work with Casa Kids
  • Liaisons between Casa and the Casa Kid’s social worker, attorney, school, court appointed special advocate or outside therapist
  • Age-appropriate individual, group, family and play therapy
  • Collaboration with psychologists and psychiatrists
  • Referral to the appropriate resources for Casa Kids and their caregivers (or families) at Casa and after they leave Casa’s programs
  • Parent education and support groups and assist in development of family support networks

Casa Kids and Families Who Receive Counseling

  • Participating children, families and young adults of Casa de Amparo programs.

Referrals and Fees
San Diego County Child Welfare Services provides referrals to this program, which is supported by government funds, grants and private donations. Private military referrals are also accepted.
