The Organization also prohibits discrimination, harassment, disrespectful or unprofessional conduct based on the perception that anyone has any of those characteristics or is associated with a person who has or is perceived as having any of those characteristics. This policy applies to all aspects of employment, including recruitment, hiring, promotion, transfer, training, working conditions, compensation, benefits, and other privileges of employment.
The purpose of this policy is to ensure a work environment free from discrimination and harassment and to promote a culture of inclusion and diversity. The Organization believes in treating all employees and applicants fairly and with respect, and we are committed to fostering a diverse workforce where every individual feels valued and empowered to contribute their unique skills and perspectives. Employees who believe they have been subjected to discrimination or harassment, or who have witnessed such conduct, are encouraged to report the incident promptly to HR. Casa de Amparo will investigate all complaints of discrimination or harassment promptly and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable laws and Organizational policies.
In addition to Casa de Amparo's internal complaint procedure, employees should be aware that the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) investigate and prosecute complaints of unlawful harassment in employment. It is the responsibility of every manager and employee to conscientiously follow this policy. Any employee having questions regarding this policy should discuss them with Human Resources. Casa de Amparo prohibits discrimination, harassment, disrespectful or unprofessional conduct based on the perception that anyone has any of those characteristics, or is associated with a person who has or is perceived as having any of those characteristics. In addition, the Organization prohibits retaliation against individuals who raise complaints of discrimination or harassment or who participate in workplace investigations. All such conduct is in violation of the Organization’s policy. Casa de Amparo policy prohibiting harassment applies to all persons involved in the operation of the agency. Casa de Amparo prohibits harassment, disrespectful or unprofessional conduct by any employee of the agency, including supervisors, managers and co-workers. Casa de Amparo's anti-harassment policy also applies to vendors, customers, independent contractors, unpaid interns, volunteers, persons providing services pursuant to a contract and other persons with whom individuals encounter while working.
