We love inviting individual volunteers to help our organization with small projects, event support, and much more. Volunteers can help with day to day tasks at Casa or help out at special events and fundraisers. We truly appreciate their kind and generous hearts.

We often collaborate with local groups to make our Casa community a stronger, more compassionate place for all. We work with the Ladies Auxiliary, Girl & Boy Scouts, National Charity League, Lions Club, and so many more. If your group would like to volunteer, let's get started!

Special Event Volunteers

Volunteers help our team prepare, run, and wrap up every event for Casa de Amparo. You can volunteer at an event as an individual or with a group, company, or organization.

Donation Room Moving Days

July 20-22 | 325 Buena Creek Road, San Marcos

Casa de Amparo has a new program opening this summer! The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) will provide structured mental health support for transition-age youth ages 18–26. To make space for this program, we are moving our In-Kind Donation room, and we need your help! We welcome individuals or groups to join us on July 20th, 21st and 22nd for a donation sorting and moving extravaganza.

 

Please note that this opportunity will include standing, bending, and lifting heavy boxes.

Enhanced Care Management Housing & Outreach Volunteer

103 Rancho Del Oro Dr, Oceanside, CA 92057

Supports the Enhanced Care Management (ECM) team by focusing on housing resource development, community outreach, and the management of in-kind resources. This role is instrumental in expanding the network of housing providers and ensuring member requests for essential items are fulfilled efficiently.

 

Volunteers must be be 21 or older.

Residential Support Volunteer

325 Buena Creek Rd, San Marcos, CA 92069

Assists the Residential Services team in maintaining a supportive, organized, and trauma-informed environment for residents in the Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP). The volunteer supports daily operations through logistical coordination, and administrative tasks related to resident belongings and engagement.

 

Volunteers must be be 21 or older.

Transitional Housing Volunteer

103 Rancho Del Oro Dr, Oceanside, CA 92057

Provides essential logistical and administrative support to the Transitional Housing Program and Transitional Living Program. This role focuses on the physical preparation of living spaces, management of in-kind donations, and supporting the basic operational needs of the program to ensure a welcoming environment for participants.

 

Volunteers must be be 21 or older.

Transitional Housing Compliance Volunteer

Provides administrative, compliance, and auditing support to Transitional Housing programs through file reviews, lease management, documentation tracking, and housing operations support.

Training & Staff Development Volunteer

325 Buena Creek Rd, San Marcos, CA 92069

Supports the professional development and organizational culture of Casa de Amparo by assisting with staff training logistics and employee engagement initiatives. This role bridges the gap between curriculum delivery and practical
workshop facilitation, while also maintaining vibrant, welcoming staff environments.

 

Volunteers must be be 21 or older.

Ongoing Volunteer Needs

There are many ongoing jobs and tasks the volunteers can help with. This list is not all inclusive, and not all tasks are needed daily. This list gives volunteers an idea of the kinds of projects you can take on here at Casa de Amparo and as our advocates in the community.

On Campus

Administrative Support

Assist office staff with various administrative tasks. Tasks include, but are not limited to, organizing supplies, stuffing mailings, assembling gift bags, and more. The Volunteer Coordinator will determine which tasks are most needed during the time of your shift.

​Campus Support

Help with gardening, mulching, and tidying up the Casa campus so it shines for our participants. These tasks are very hands on, so you would need to wear appropriate clothes, bring gloves, and plenty of water to drink.

Holiday & Celebration Preparation

We love to make each holiday special for our residents and program participants, and volunteers can help bring that magic to life. Volunteers can help set up and prepare for the various celebrations we have throughout the year.

Outreach & Support

Host a Donation Drive

At your school, workplace, neighborhood, or organization, collect items or gift cards for our program participants. Ongoing needs include kitchen, art, hygiene, and baking items.

Solicit Auction Items & In-Kind Donations

Send emails to businesses and corporations based on our current needs.​

 

Host a Wine Drop Party

Have a small gathering with appetizers or a light dinner at your home, business, or community space. Each guests brings a bottle of wine worth $45 or more to donate to our fundraising events.

Special Skills

Special Event Photography & Videography

We love working with local artists to capture the spirit and fun of our live events! Build out your portfolio by donating your time and talents to help our marketing and social media efforts.

Art Workshop Leadership

We love bringing art to our residents and program participants! Volunteers with art experience can assist with planning, organizing, and leading art workshops on campus.

Meet Anna

Hello everyone! I’m Anna, the Volunteer Coordinator at Casa de Amparo.

 

We often say that volunteers are the backbone of the organization because the work we do here at Casa truly would not be possible without our volunteers. Working with you all is my favorite part of my job, and I am inspired every day by your passion and commitment to making our shared community a better place.
