Programs for Transition Age Foster Youth

Our Transitional Housing Program is based in San Diego and provides apartments in Escondido, San Marcos, Vista, Oceanside, and San Diego for former foster and probation youth ages 18–25. We place our apartments within larger complexes to offer you a sense of independence, while still providing support whenever you need it as you work toward your goals.

You Belong Here

Program participants are welcome to the fun and supportive groups we offer—like a monthly pottery group, a self-discovery group, and other groups that cover topics like healthy relationships, coping skills, career planning, and more. You’ll also have access to Casa de Amparo’s food pantry and helpful community resources.

Please contact our intake specialist if you have any questions or to set up an interview!

Monthly Allowance
You receive an allowance each month. The amount varies for THPP and THPP-NMD programs.

Emancipation Fund

For every month you stay in the program, we’ll save $50 for you. Stick with us for the full two years, and you’ll walk away with $1,200 to use however you want.

Matched Savings Program
We’ll help you build savings! For every $25 you save each month, we’ll match it—up to $300 a year. That means if you save $300, we’ll give you another $300 - money for your future.

A laundry room and fully-stocked food pantry at the Oceanside campus is available to all participants.
